design

Graphic Design is lame.

Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration. You can't really escape it. It's on the books, CDs, and DVDs we buy. It's in the posters that promote the things that we like (and don't like). It's the big highway signs that steer you in the right direction and the company logo on your underwear. Great graphic design has the power to leave you speechless (then again, so can really bad design).

Like it or not, graphic design a part of everything you as a consumer use. You just might not realize it.

I happen to like it. I learned my way around graphics applications with no intention other than to have some fun. Naturally, the more time I spent with it, the more I learned, the better I got with it. It sucked me in, and I wanted to learn as much as I could about color, printing, proportion, layout, and my personal favorite, typography. After a few years of in-depth self-education in the graphic arts, I decided to go into business.

In January 2006, I opened Microspective Multimedia [microspective.net], offering creative technology services. These include website development, graphic design (logos, print, album artwork, etc.), digital musc and photo transfer and organization, and computer and software training. If you're curious, please visit the site.

I'll be honest with you: I can't afford to be a professional photographer. It's just something else I happen to enjoy, and I do the best I can with what I have. Thanks for browsing.
